About the Opportunity

Currently, Silfab is seeking experienced and flexible Maintenance Electricians to join their collaborative team in Mississauga, ON.

In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining production equipment, which includes electrical, hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic systems, while working from wiring diagrams, engineering drawings and equipment specifications.

Working primarily on voltages up to 600V (AC/DC), you will:

·       Repair and replace electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic and electronic components such as motors, contractors, relays, timers, types of switches, PLCs, light curtains, motor controls, valves, etc.;

·

·       Run new power supply lines to new/relocated equipment according to IEE wiring regulations, Electrical Safety Code and company policy;

·       Wire new control panels according to supplied drawings and verbal instructions while adhering to Hydro Codes and other applicable standards and regulations;

·       Recognize and diagnose faults on electrical equipment or systems, which may involve complex interlocking, interrelated circuits, integrated systems and complex sequencing;

·       Install, examine, replace and repair electronic wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components;

·       Maintain production equipment to maximize operating performance and assist with maintaining electrical spare parts inventory levels;

·       Perform repairs on equipment to restore them to proper and safe work conditions;

·       Perform installation, set up, modification and relocation of equipment to accommodate or improve production requirements;

·       Read/write electrical and electronic schematics/diagrams, basic hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams;

·       Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance;

·       Make trade calculations for load requirements and select appropriate sizes/grades of components in accordance with current electrical code;

·       Ensure production schedule is not jeopardized due to machine break down, or unsafe operating conditions and inform Engineering and Maintenance Manager about changes in electric circuits and update original diagrams;

·       Always follow LOCK OUT procedure on unsafe machines/machines being serviced;

·       Adhere to work orders, preventive/predictive maintenance systems by filling in required forms; and

·       Organize workplace to comply with housekeeping requirements.

In order to be successful in this role, you must have a valid Provincial Industrial Electrician’s license (preferably inter-provincial), knowledge of applicable electrical codes and 3-5 years of experience employed as an Industrial Electrician, ideally within a production environment.

Able to read wiring diagrams, electrical/mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic schematics and ladder/function block logic, you have working knowledge of industrial PCs and PLCs (Siemens Step 7, Beckhoff TwinCat, etc.) and electric circuitry consisting of contractors, relays, main voltage/control voltage, limit switches and proximity sensors, etc.

Hands-on experience applying hydra-electric, electro-pneumatic and electro-mechanical theories is a must as is the ability to work well with minimal supervision and take initiative.

A proven team player and strong communicator with excellent organizational skills, you will be a great fit for this role if you are able to:

·       Maintain an awareness of the big picture;

·       Understand and use programming devices for troubleshooting and modifying programs;

·       Perform basic wiring work, conduit bending, controls cabinet wiring and general installations;

·       Identify causes of problems while developing methods of correction;

·       Lift up to 40 lbs;

·       Work overtime and weekends as required; and

·       Work shift work as required.

Job Description

 An integral part of our growing sales and marketing team, we are looking to hire a creative, energetic and results oriented Marketing Coordinator. The successful candidate will possess at least 2 years of relevant experience in a marketing and/or digital marketing role within manufacturing or BTB products. As Silfab continues to grow as a leader in the US residential and small commercial PV module market, we are looking for a Regional Sales Manager (RSM) to develop and nurture long-term, trusting relationships with prospective and existing Silfab customers. The RSM’s role is to actively seek new sales opportunities, strengthen relationships by providing exceptional service and integrity with existing and new clients and act as Silfab’s industry expert for a given geographic area.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, characterize and close sales opportunities according to regional scope and company strategies. Sales responsibilities will require high volume prospecting through phone, email and face to face meetings.
  • Serve as the lead point of contact for all customer accounts within given regional scope
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Silfab distribution partner sales teams
  • Act as Silfab’s resident expert on all matters of policy, industry and competitor trends as they relate to the selected regional scope.
  • Maintain and track detailed customer metrics through Silfab CRM

Maintenance and Reliability Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Manages, directs, coaches, leads, and motivates subordinate personnel to achieve department goals and objectives in a safe and timely manner.  
  • Continuously improves subordinate skills in support of business needs.
  • Leads all activities associated with the maintenance and repair of plant equipment in the most efficient and effective manner while maintaining continuous plant operation 365 days per year.  
  • Prepares and monitors the maintenance budget for the department to ensure costs are in line with production requirements and to determine variances and the cause of variances.  
  • Ensures effective review of asset requirements for repair and maintenance leading to high availability of asset while minimizing company’s inventory value.  
  • Manages, directs, coordinates, and organizes the Maintenance department to meet the goal of zero down-time at the least cost in the most efficient, effective, and safe manner.  
  • Promotes and institutes the use of interdepartmental teams to repair and maintain plant equipment in an efficient and effective manner. 
  • Reviews and assists in the engineering of major projects to ensure proper engineering and installation.  
  • Manages and directs the acquisition of all necessary permits and approvals to ensure renovation and construction of all plant equipment according to designs and regulatory inspection requirements.
  • Assists in design, start-up and operation of other facilities as required.  
  • Manages and directs subordinates responsible for maintaining and modifying all electrical, electronic, and mechanical plant equipment located in their respective plant areas of responsibility.  This maintenance includes:  
    • Electrical/Electronic: involves repairing and maintaining all electrical items, instrument controls, process computers, and operating and maintaining the electrical substation and distribution system.  
    • Mechanicalinvolves repairing and maintaining all mechanical equipment including motor vehicles, cranes, and other items of a mechanical nature.  
    • Warehouse Operations: provides all materials required for the plant operation aside from raw materials.  
  • Manages and directs a program of predictive and preventative maintenance and scheduling of this maintenance for continuous plant operations at the least cost.  
  • Maintains and fosters positive employee-relations and communications both within the Maintenance department and among the plant’s various departments.  
  • Monitors and improves processes, procedures, and equipment to reduce or eliminate safety hazards and risks in the Maintenance Department with a goal of achieving a zero OSHA recordable accident case rate.  
  • Administers apprenticeship and craft training programs when needed. 

 

Education and Experience  

Required Qualifications 

  • Combinations of education or military service and industrial maintenance experience:
    • 4 year degree and 6 years of industrial maintenance experience; or  
    • 2year associates degree and 10 years of industrial maintenance experience; or  
    • 10 years military service and 5 years industrial maintenance experience.
  • Excellent command of English language, both in verbal and written understanding and the ability to speak and write clearly.  
  • Computer literacy; MS office and related packages.
  • Results-focused attitude to work.    
  • Devotion to safe, clean and efficient production.    
  • Strong communicator able to train others and speak in front of an audience.    
  • Must be self-motivated and problem solver. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Mechanical or electrical engineering degree, Master’s preferred
