There are 292 Silfab SLA-X 295w high-efficiency Bifacial PV modules installed atop a custom wood pergola and two steel carport structures located at The Merc Co+Op in Lawrence, KS. The structures not only provide 86.14 kW of solar power to the community owned natural grocery store but also provides shade while parking, charging either electric vehicles and/or outdoor dining.
These solar installations accompany another 114kW installation on the roof. The total 200.14 kW is estimated off-set approximately 30% of the store’s consumption.
The Silfab SLA-X 295w Ultra-High-Efficiency Bifacial PV modules were chosen for this project not only because they are attractive modules but because of their optimized efficiency, offering additional contribution from the backside, making them ideal for the carport and pergola structure installation.
